Early Intervention Program
Early intervention is a partnership between families and caring professionals working together to encourage natural learning which occurs during the early months and years of a child's life. Services offered include developmental screenings and assessments, behavior management, center-based, home-based and community-based programs, family group activities, transportation and transition into the school system.
The PDI Early Intervention Program serves children birth to three (3) years with a range of special needs.
In 2008 we exceeded the State of Tennessee 3 Star Rating program and are now approved and monitored by the Department of Education. PDI also operates the Kids Depot, a fully integrated preschool center that was established in 1999. The center allows us the unique opportunity to serve children with developmental delays in a natural environment and better prepare these children for life in the mainstream.
Center-Based:
Your child is provided a fun, structured environment offering an array of social interaction with typically developing children in a preschool setting. On average, children are seen in our center a few days a week for 2.5 hours each day, but frequency is determined by your child’s needs. We also provide limited transportation.
Community-Based:
Your child is seen by an early interventionist in your child’s current preschool facility. We provide suggestions, ideas and techniques to staff to promote continuous growth in the area(s) of concern while working with your child in their own classroom setting.
Home-Based:
An early interventionist visits your child in your home to provide fun activities which foster development. We provide families with parent training to encourage continuous growth in the area(s) of concern.
